Newtone Gas Springs is the commercial brand of AVIE Dış Tic. Sanayi ve Ltd. Şti. Our certificates are issued to that legal entity and carry the Newtone brand name, which is the normal arrangement for a manufacturer trading under a brand.
We are a manufacturer, not a distributor
This distinction matters when you are sourcing from abroad, because it decides who can actually change the product for you.
Approximately 90% of our manufacturing is handled inside our own facility. Tube cutting, rod machining, sealing, filling, painting and assembly happen under one roof. External purchasing is limited to a small number of standard components.
The practical consequence is that a change to force, stroke, end fitting, coating or oil is a production decision we make ourselves. It is not a request we forward to another factory and wait on.
What we manufacture
- Standard gas springs — lifting, supporting and holding open, the most common requirement
- Locking gas springs — hold position anywhere along the stroke
- Click and Go gas springs — integrated locking mechanism
- Traction gas springs — pull instead of push, for restricted mounting geometry
- Stainless steel gas springs — 304 and 316L for corrosive, marine and hygienic environments
- Hydraulic dampers — speed control rather than lifting force
- Locking safety tubes and shrouds — mechanical backup where a cover must not fall
- Telescopic multi-position stays
- Linear actuators
- End fittings and mounting brackets — zamak, metal and composite
If you are unsure which type your application needs, the comparison in types of gas springs works through the decision, and the gas spring calculator will give you a force and stroke starting point from your own dimensions.
Certification
All certificates are issued by EKOL Belgelendirme, an IAC-accredited certification body (accreditation number IAC-MSCB-5044), and are audited annually. They are valid to 3 May 2027.

A note worth making, because it comes up in supplier evaluations: a certificate proves a management system exists. It does not by itself prove that a particular batch performs. Ask any supplier, including us, for force measurement and cycle life test reports tied to the actual product code. Our quality control and testing page describes how those tests are run here.
Sourcing gas springs from Türkiye
Buyers usually arrive at Türkiye for a mix of reasons, and it is worth being straightforward about which of them are real.
Geography. Istanbul is within road-freight reach of most of Europe and close to Middle Eastern and North African markets. For a European buyer this typically sits between local supply and long-haul Asian supply in transit time.
An established base. Gas spring manufacturing in Türkiye is not new. There is a real supplier cluster with trained people and local access to tube, rod and sealing components.
Direct access to the factory. With a mid-sized manufacturer you are usually talking to the people who will actually run the job, which shortens the loop on a custom specification.
What we would not claim is that Türkiye is automatically cheaper or automatically better than any other country. That depends on your volume, your specification and your logistics. What we can say is what our own capability is, which is set out above, and that you should compare it against the alternatives on the same terms.
Working with buyers abroad
Most enquiries that reach us from outside Türkiye fall into one of three shapes.
A drop-in replacement. You have an existing gas spring and need the same thing from a new source. Send the printed markings, the extended and compressed centre-to-centre lengths, the rod and tube diameters and the end fitting type. That is usually enough.
A new application. You have a lid, hatch, cover or panel and no part yet. Send the weight, the dimensions, the hinge position, the desired opening angle and where the mounting points can physically go. Force and stroke are calculated from those.
An OEM programme. Repeating volume with your own specification. Here the conversation moves to tolerances, cycle life targets, coating, packaging, marking and delivery scheduling. We hold force to ±5% as standard and can work to tighter limits where the application requires it.
What to send with a quote request
- Force in newtons, if you already know it, or the weight and dimensions if you do not
- Extended and compressed length, centre to centre
- Stroke
- End fitting type at each end
- Operating environment: indoor, outdoor, marine, washdown, chemical, food contact
- Operating temperature range
- Expected cycle life
- Annual quantity and whether you need samples first
- Any certificates or test reports you need supplied with the shipment
A dimensioned sketch or a photograph of the existing part with a ruler beside it saves a round of questions.
Frequently asked questions
Is Newtone a manufacturer or a trading company?
A manufacturer. Production takes place in our own facility in Istanbul, and approximately 90% of manufacturing is handled in-house.
What force and stroke can you produce?
Approximately 20 N to 7,500 N, with stroke lengths up to 1,200 mm. Force is held to ±5% as standard.
Do you supply stainless steel gas springs?
Yes, in AISI 304 and 316L. 316L is the appropriate choice for saltwater, chlorides and aggressive chemical washdown; 304 covers general outdoor and humid conditions.
Which certificates can you provide?
ISO 9001, TS ISO 10002, ISO 14001, ISO 31000 and ISO 45001, plus a CE declaration of conformity. Certificate numbers and PDFs are published on our certificates page.
Do you produce custom gas springs in low quantities?
Yes. We work from prototype quantities through to series OEM production. Sample quantities and lead times depend on the complexity of the project.
Can you match an existing gas spring from another manufacturer?
In most cases yes, provided we have the dimensions, the force and the end fitting type. The printed markings on the existing part are usually the fastest starting point.
Talk to us
Send your specification, a sketch or a photograph of the existing part and we will come back with a proposal. If you are still at the stage of working out what force you need, start with the gas spring calculator and send us the result.
